New Nebraskans

In collaboration with Justice for Our Neighbors-NE, Omaha Public Schools, the Refugee Empowerment Center, and the Intercultural Senior Center, Watie White Studio designed and implemented a series of monumental portraits of refugees and immigrants who had recently become new residents of Nebraska. After conducting interviews with each person, he created a woodcut portrait. The portraits were enlarged, placed on the wall, and painted by community volunteers.
