“Using the conventions of the Pulp cover genre, I allow my models to tell their most lurid truths. They expose themselves knowing full well each viewer will assume first that each painting is a fiction. The text is an invention with false implications. Here lies the liberation and the startling honesty of this series. The paintings are collaborations, a representation of the extent of the authenticity each person can achieve with me as an individual. The models have exposed themselves, but even that exposure is a secret they keep.”
